Sunday was hot wasn't it, and we were running hotter still with the stall at Woolmers Festival of Roses. What difference it was from last year, when it bucketed down and we all went home broke and miserable!! This year the sun was out and so were the roses, and a lovely time was had by all. Mates from other stalls dropped by for a yarn - this is Ed from Casa Paella and Chris from Brady's Lookout Cider.
We had the good fortune to be right next door to Pagan Cider. Fiona likes to sample a drop or a taste of pretty much everything and this one didn't disappoint. The Apple Cider is a silky soft drink with a beautiful white froth and clear, crisp flavours, not too sweet, flavoursome and just right to keep you cool and refreshed during long day of serving smoked sausages to hungry gardeners.
There's nothing Oliver likes more than to show off his smoker and have a chat with some other bloke who's got a penchant for smoking stuff, and there were plenty of opportunities through the day, as the smoker was much admired.
This is now our preferred way of cooking our Pork Sausages at events, as it's quicker and easier than using a barbecue and requires less supervision. German people particularly seem to be enamoured of this means of cooking them, as it makes the sausages juicy and firm, and we serve them with a read cabbage which is a little like sauerkraut.
If you've had one of our sausages lately from the smoker, leave us a comment and let us know what you thought!
